Pocket 4

April 15, 2026

DJI announced that their new product will be revealed on the 16th. People say it could be the Pocket 4, though some expect only a slight update, meaning Pocket 3 owners might not need to upgrade. However, I already sold my Pocket 3 to a second-hand shop because its value will likely drop after the new model goes on sale. Also, I didn't want to deal with that nagging stress of using an older model. If the filters and lenses for the 3 are compatible with the 4, I’ll be much more motivated to buy it. But for now, I’ll hold off on my decision until I hear more about the rumored new gimbal from Insta360.

New charger

April 7, 2026

I use VS Code for my software development projects. I’ve noticed that this app consumes a lot of battery power very quickly. I don't really notice it at home, but when I'm working at a cafe on battery power, it drains fast. So, I decided to get a charger that is as light as possible for easy carrying. I found one on Makuake, a crowdfunding site. It’s lighter than the one I currently own. It will be released in June, two months from now. I backed the project today.

Artemis II

April 2, 2026

Artemis II is heading to the Moon now. I admire the entire crew. The Moon is unimaginably far from the Earth. Once you are on your way there, you cannot easily return home. To me, that is a terrifying and overwhelming thought. I'll say it again: once you've started, there's no stopping. The Moon is truly, deeply far away.

Learning from the Past

April 1, 2026

I sometimes see people who don't try to learn from past experiences or case studies. Instead, they try to find a completely new solution for the problem at hand. They don't even imagine that their predecessors might have faced the same issues, so they don't bother researching the past. Some people dislike the effort of reading documents or data and prefer to try their own "unique" way. I've learned from watching them, and I try my best not to make the same mistake.
